VIAGEM
SYNOPSIS
We invite the audience to delve into the harsh reality of migrants and refugees who cross deserts and oceans in search of a new life.
The show "A VIAGEM" addresses this theme in a light, raw, poetic, and entertaining way, leading the audience to reflect on profound questions while having fun.
After risking everything for a better future, these characters face the harsh reality of survival in an unknown and lonely world. In search of sustenance, they wander from land to land, performing small shows that feed both their hope and their stomachs.
Despite being circus performers, they find themselves in an environment where they are rejected; the audience laughs at their performances, but in the end, they disregard them, leaving them with only a bit of hard bread to carry them on.
When the lights go out and the audience disperses, they are left homeless, without food, nothing. This feeling of constant displacement makes the viewer feel the weight of the journey of those who abandon everything in search of a new home. The ocean, which could be seen as a horizon of hope, reveals itself as an invisible graveyard for thousands of interrupted lives. The desert, promising passage, transforms into a space where time dissolves into dust and silence.
A VIAGEM presents a fragmented narrative, where characters and situations intertwine, forming a rich mosaic of contemporary migration. The desperation, resilience, and brutality faced by millions of people around the world are portrayed sensitively and eloquently, offering a powerful insight into the global migration crisis.
This is a traveling, poetic, musical theater-circus piece that leads the audience to a fixed space for the performance. Drama and comedy intertwine, reflecting the reality of emigration in a way that touches the heart and provokes the mind.
